If you are a keen cook and budding chef in the making, seeking to fine tune your culinary skills, we recommend our Chalet Cookery Courses in the Black Diamond Lodge. There are a variety of courses designed to teach you all there is to know about cooking at altitude. The week-long courses focus on equipping people with the cookery skills they need to work successfully as a Chalet Chef or Chalet Host, and there is also an Advanced Chalet Chef course to assist experienced chefs in developing their menus and budgeting after working a few seasons. Resort Jobs – 2015/16 Season
Our season starts in early December, running through to the end of April each year. We are currently accepting applications for the next season from experienced and enthusiastic team members, ideally qualified and have any special skills (such as speaking French).
We are recruiting for the following roles:
At Venture Ski our Chalet Managers are pivotal to ensuring the smooth day to day running of our Chalets. Working with the guidance of the Resort Manager you will be responsible for a portfolio of Venture Ski Chalets. In this role you will need to have a fun and outgoing personality, with a flexible attitude and passion for the mountain is essential. You will be the main contact for the guests during their time in Sainte Foy ensuring that their holiday is delivered to the high standards expected to ensure the brand promise is fulfilled.
Qualified nannies are essential to the Venture Ski team and to the experience our guests enjoy. Our fully-equipped on site crèche and the tranquil resort area in Sainte Foy provide an idyllic setting to ensure we can give our younger guests a holiday to match their parents’ out on the slopes. A loving, patient and caring attitude is essential to this role with Children’s ages ranging from three months to 12 years. Experience as a private nanny or in a day-care centre is highly desirable along with up to date DBS checks and childcare qualifications.
Part of the childcare team will include our Head Nanny who will be completely responsible for all aspects involved with setting up and running a fully operational crèche including creating weekly activity timetables, ensuring the crèche adheres to policy standards and managing a small team of nanny’s. The successful Head Nanny will not only have an excellent approach to childcare, but will have the ability to liaise with the parents and put them completely at ease with the arrangements surrounding their child’s holiday programme.

At Venture Ski we consider the in Chalet cuisine to be paramount to the overall luxury experience that we strive to provide. As a Chalet Chef you will be working in one of our three larger Chalets, each catering up to 25 people. Naturally, due to the excellent standard of food produced in these Chalets our Chefs will be expected to have a high level of industry experience and training. Working alongside a team in your Chalets you will be expected to provide a Breakfast, Afternoon Tea and 4 course Dinner six nights a week to a restaurant standards.
Our Chalet Hosts are responsible for looking after all aspects of chalet services, ensuring the guest’s holiday expectations are not only met, but exceeded! You will provide breakfast, afternoon tea and four course dinner for between four and 8 guests, as well as undertaking a range of cleaning tasks. We are looking for mature, hard working, sociable, organised individuals with catering experience and/or qualifications, hospitality experience and knowledge about food and wine. A fun and outgoing personality, with a flexible attitude and passion for the mountain is essential; this role is a great way to gain experience in catering and customer care as well as a fantastic way to meet new people and have some adventure and fun.
Our Resort/Chalet Assistants are responsible for ensuring guest’s needs are met either in our chalets or in the back office, this position is vitally important as it ensures we deliver an exceptional holiday experience to all our guests. You will need to be extremely flexible and organised with experience in catering, cleaning and customer service. Enthusiasm, liveliness, friendliness and a passion for the mountains are key attributes to this job, together with a “can do” attitude. It is a great way to gain experience in catering and customer care as well as a fantastic way to meet new people and have some adventure and fun.
Our Spa Manager is responsible for overseeing all guest services involved with the Venture Ski spa; it is considered a pinnacle role in delivering our luxurious ethos to all guests. This position requires a hands-on individual to ensure our private spa including swimming pool, hot tubs, sauna and treatment room are all maintained and cleaned to an exceptional standard. You will also be required to manage promote and deliver massage and beauty treatments to guests according to their requirements and your skill set, as a direct point of contact to guests we are looking for a professional, organised and sociable individual.
This position requires a great deal of flexibility and versatility along with the attitude of being happy to help in any situation. A good standard of practical and DIY skills including minor joinery, plumbing, electrical and ad-hoc skills are required/ qualifications preferred in order to maintain our chalets to luxury standards. The driving aspect of the position involves collecting and returning guests from the nearby airports and train stations, along with collecting supplies from neighbouring resorts and the local town of Bourg St Maurice on a regular basis. Overall this position requires an individual that is responsible and aware whilst being self-motivated and pro-active, applications only accepted from individuals that held a full clean UK driving license for over three years and experience of driving in snow preferable.
