Resort Jobs - 2008/9 Season
Our season starts in early December, running through to the end of April 2009. We are currently accepting applications for the coming season from experienced and enthusiastic team members, ideally qualified and French speaking. We are recruiting for the following roles:
Resort Manager
Working with the directors, our Resort Manager is key role in our operation - it is a challenging yet ultimately rewarding role! We are looking for a dedicated and highly motivated individual to oversee the entire resort operation. This position is very diverse – the duties include everything from guest relations to vehicle maintenance checks and from managing 30 staff to delivering exceptional levels of customer service within budget. Above all, the Resort Manager is responsible for ensuring the Venture Ski ‘product’ is delivered and the brand promise is fulfilled. It is a non-stop role that requires total involvement and pro-activity as well as getting quality time on the slopes.
Guest Relations Managers
These roles will cover all elements of delivering an exceptional level of customer services. This demanding yet ultimately immensely fun role includes ski and/or board hosting our guests at different resorts, guest entertainment, general resort duties and some driving. This role will suit applicants who are outgoing, enthusiasm, liveliness and courteous, as well as having “nothing is too much” attitude. A full clean driving license, over 25, and to be able to ski and/or board to a high standard is essential.
Head of House Keeping and Supplies Manager
We are looking for dedicated and highly motivated individual for this challenging role, who will be key to the resort management team. The Head of Housekeeping is responsible for the cleanliness standards and attention to detail throughout our luxury chalets. You will also be responsible for stock control and organisation of the stores room and supplies for the chalet operation. It is diverse in its portfolio of duties but above all it ensures all our guests benefit from the highest standards and service throughout the chalets.
Gourmet Chefs
Our Chefs are one of the key roles in our operation. We are looking for hard working, sociable, organised individuals with catering experience and/or qualification, to care for between 6 and 20 guests. You will provide breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner as well as providing a source of information to ensure we exceed the expectations of our guests. These are demanding role, but the rewards are high and our unique bespoke offering will ensure you have plenty of opportunity to flex your culinary muscles. We will expect flexibility and team spirit to ensure the customer comes first.
Chalet Hosts
Our Chalet Hosts look after guests in our chalets to ensure their needs are met and they have an exceptional experience with Venture Ski. You will support the chefs during meal times, as well as undertaking a range of catering and cleaning tasks. Enthusiasm, liveliness and friendliness are key attributes to this job, together with a “can do” attitude. It is a great way to gain experience in catering and customer care as well as a fantastic way to meet new people and have some adventure and fun.
Masseuse Therapist / Spa Manager
Working in our swimming pool and health suite, the masseuse and Spa manager is responsible for all elements from cleanliness, safety and supervision to massage and other therapies. Candidates should be outgoing and highly customer focused. Qualifications and experience as well as enthusiasm will need to be demonstrated.
Childcare
Qualified nannies are essential to the Venture Ski team and to the experience our guests enjoy. Our luxury chalets and the tranquil resort area in Sainte Foy provide an idyllic setting to ensure we can give our younger guests a holiday to match their parents out on the slopes. A loving, patience and caring attitude is essential to this role. Experience as a private nanny or in a day-care centre is highly desirable. Part of the childcare team will include our Head Nanny who will be completely responsible for all aspects involved with setting up and running a fully operational crèche. The successful Head Nanny will not only have an excellent approach to childcare, but will have the ability to liaise with the parent.
Driver / Handyman
These positions demand a great deal of flexibility and interface with our guests. Our drivers need to be self motivated, pro-active, sociable and happy to help in any situation. This position also calls for a high level of practical ability as well as responsibility and awareness. Applicants must have a full clean driving license and be over 25 at a minimum. There is also a requirement to fulfil general maintenance duties and skilled or semi-skilled candidates would be welcome. This part of the job requires a flexible approach as you will be required to turn your hand to a very wide variety of tasks. Duties will include; painting and decorating, minor plumbing and electrical repairs, joinery and other chalet maintenance activities.
